Ever feel like you’re doing the work, but not seeing the results?

You’re not alone.

At my son’s summer basketball camp – during parent observation night – the coach shared something that stuck with everyone in the room:

🏀 Progress doesn’t always look like progress in the moment.

Sometimes it feels invisible.
Sometimes it feels like a backslide.
Sometimes you mess up and think you’ve lost all your momentum.

But that’s not how growth works.

It’s not about perfection – it’s about correction.

Fix the miss.
Repeat the habit.
Keep showing up.

That’s what creates traction.

Then he told a story that made the whole gym go still.

Back when he was in high school, he started tallying every shot he practiced outside of regular team training:

At lunch.
On weekends.
During pickup games.

Five shots here, ten there – nothing dramatic.

But over time?

He clocked over 100,000 extra practice shots.

That gave him a serious edge over players who only practiced during scheduled sessions.

Those small, extra reps built something massive.
That’s how mastery happens.

This applies off the court too.

I first learned this same principle 19 years ago during coach training – and I see it weekly with my clients.

Not because they’re pushing harder or chasing hacks…

But because they’re leaning into just a little more follow-through.

  • The sales call they schedule instead of putting off

  • The habit they repeat five times this month, not once

  • The brave decision they make, even while scared

So what usually stops us from that follow-through?

Not laziness.
Not time.
Not strategy.

It’s usually subtle, internal emotional blocks – those quiet, deep-down safety signals that try to pull us off track.

The key?
Clearing those blocks in the body – not just in the mind.
That’s what helps you follow through with the steps you already know you want to take.

And those steps?

They compound.
They multiply.
They deliver results that feel wildly out of proportion to the effort required.

If you’ve been showing up behind the scenes – and questioning if it’s working – consider this your proof.

Now ask yourself:
What small extra effort can you make this week to get your reps in?

Your consistency matters.
Your growth is happening – even if it’s invisible right now.

Consistent action brings consistent results.

Would you like to see if your business strategy is sufficiently refined for consistent action to bring you the consistent results you want?
