Massive success requires high performance, so I’m going to give you the simple formula to get anyone to do anything, including yourself.

If you’re like some of my clients, you might find yourself often asking, “Why can’t Jane or Joe just do this / or do it right??” – or even asking the same things about yourself when you’re in the way of your own success. Either way… 

It can be sooooooo frustrating!!  

One of the biggest problems standing in the way of more success is getting things done in your business or done at the level you want. Whether it’s our employees or ourselves who are coming up short, we need a certain level of performance for our businesses to grow, workloads to shrink, stresses to disappear and our profits to surge.

The GREAT thing is this is much simpler to solve than most business owners realize.

And I’m going to share the solution with you, because I believe in putting things into really simple terms and easy concepts for business owners and leaders to make huge, fast jumps in the success of their employees, their businesses and themselves – in record time! 

So here it is.

In my 30+ years of leading, training and coaching employees, leaders and teams, fighting and overcoming my own personal shortcomings of productivity, effectiveness and, yes, procrastinations, I’ve noticed that it really comes down to providing 3 things and overcoming 2 challenges to get anyone, including yourself, to accomplish anything. 

This easy to remember model I created years ago is all you need to have a well built “ToWeR” for success, including the three must-have’s – the T, W and R:

  • the Talents – the skills or aptitudes to do the job 
  • the Wants – the desires or motivations to do it 
  • the Resources – the things you need to complete it 


It’s like a table with three legs; if any of one of the three is missing, the table won’t stand. The person won’t have success. I guarantee it.

Think about it this way: 

If I dropped you off in an empty lot and asked you to build me a house, and I can back three weeks later, will there be a house? Probably not. You can’t build without the know-how of design and construction, the motivation do it (why should you do it? what’s the reward? how does it get you to where you want to be?), or the materials to do it (seems silly to ask someone to build something without giving them materials and resources for building, helping, training, etc.). If any of those are missing, guess what? No house. Or slowed business success.

And there are two challenges to overcome – the “o” and the “e”:

  • Absence of an outline – you need a blueprint, plan or vision 
  • Having an emotional conflict – if the goal, action steps or desired outcomes are not aligned emotionally or with your values, that will prevent you, or them, from doing the work or creating success. This often can happen on a subconscious basis – we sabotage ourselves because we’re not aware of it


So there you have it – Make sure you or your employees have the ToWeR built, and you, or they, can accomplish anything!
